Arun Chittilappilly

Arun K Chittilappilly, Managing Director at Wonderla Holidays Ltd has been the key architect of Wonderla amusement parks, which runs medium to large scale amusement parks in Cochin and Bangalore. Arun has been actively involved in strategising and conceptualising the Wonderla Parks and Resorts.
Soon after his Masters, Arun got involved in the operations of the Kochi park: Veegaland. Believing that a great amusement park would see great acceptance in Bangalore, Arun initiated the project in 2003. The Wonderla project in Bangalore was designed as a grander version of the Kochi Park, using the latest technology in its umpteen attractions and facilities. The Bangalore park was completed in late 2005. In 2008 the Kochi park was also rebranded to Wonderla and the company was merged with the Bangalore entity. TripAdvisor’s Travellers choice awards has ranked Wonderla as #8 among the top 10 amusement parks in Asia for 2013.
Arun’s newest operational venture is the Wonderla Resort in Bangalore, an 84-room luxury resort, a first of its kind in India within the premises of the Bangalore Amusement park, and has plans to start two more amusement parks in Hyderabad and Chennai within a 5-year period. Arun holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, specialising in facility layouts and optimisation, from the Industrial Research Institute of Swinburne (IRIS), Melbourne, Australia.
