Chhavi Rajawat

Sarpanch Chhavi Rajawat is the first woman Sarpanch (elected head) with an MBA in India, serving the village called Soda in Rajasthan since 2010. As head of the Village Council, Sarpanch Rajawat is working to develop Soda with the support of the government, the corporate sector, NGOs and individuals. Her focus is on addressing environmental, social and economic challenges in Soda. She has invited global agencies to help meet the needs of her village including providing safe drinking water and equal access to education for girls in Soda.

Sarpanch Rajawat has held senior posts with private firms such as Bharti Airtel and the Carlson Group. She has been elected as an Aspen Fellow. She co-chaired the World economic Forum India Summit (2012), received the Yuva Award (2013), was announced a Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum (2012), has been honored by Former President APJ Abdul Kalam (2011), and was recognised by the Young Indian Leader award by CNN (2010).

Sarpanch Rajawat holds a business management degree from Pune and a Bachelor of Arts from Lady Shriram College in New Delhi. Earlier this year she has been selected Director of the Bhartiya Mahila Bank. She is a celebrity speaker, and has given keynote addresses to hundreds of economic, governance, social justice and equity conferences in the government, nonprofits, businesses and universities.
