Sara Whyte

Sarah Whyte is a Walkley Award-winning journalist who writes for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers. Sarah is currently the immigration reporter based in Parliament House, Canberra. In 2013, Sarah worked on a six-month investigation into the garment trade in Bangladesh and India, exposing horrendous working conditions in garment factories that produce millions of clothes for Australian companies. Sarah is passionate about human rights and community development, having worked as a journalist in Cambodia for the Phnom Penh Post in 2004. Her work was nominated for four awards in 2014, including the Amnesty International Human Rights Awards and the NSW Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism.

In 2004, Sarah represented Australia in the International Young Leadership Conference in Prague.
