Duncan Smith
Duncan Smith helps people work together, better. Over his career he has become a trusted advisor to his clients, working with organizations, teams, and individuals in the United States, Europe, Australia, and the Asia-Pacific region. Duncan’s work includes leadership and executive team development, designing and implementing culturally appropriate diversity and inclusion solutions for multinational organizations, and facilitating critical conversations to overcome barriers in the areas of unconscious bias,gender and cultural diversity. Duncan is particularly known for his ability to help clients with core business and leadership issues: developing leadership capability, responding to globalization, increasing engagement and productivity, attracting and retaining top talent, enhancing creativity, innovation, and problem solving capabilities, and improving service delivery. He does this through executive education and coaching, facilitation,and advising on the design, implementation, and evaluation of organisational leadership and D&I strategies. His clients include numerous multi-national companies in the mining,oil and gas, banking and finance, IT, legal, government, professional services, and manufacturing sectors.
Based in Melbourne, Australia and Boston, USA, Duncan holds a BA in Comparative Religion from Trinity College and a M.Ed. from Harvard, focusing on Organizational Behaviour and Adult Learning. He has been an Honorary Fellow of Melbourne Business School, has lectured in Management, Organisational Behaviour, and Diversity at a number of Australian universities, and has published articles in both Australian and U.S.periodicals. Duncan has been a member of the Expert Panel for the Global Inclusion and Diversity Benchmarks since 2011, is a mentor for the Inclusion Allies Coalition, and in 2018 released the book Foundations of Diversity
