Priya Serrao is the first Indian-born Australian to win the title of Miss Universe Australia. She also works as a policy adviser for the Victorian government. Priya completed an undergraduate degree in Arts from Monash University and also has a postgraduate degree in Law from Melbourne Law School. She was born in India, grew up in the Middle East and migrated to Australia at the age of 10. Her interest in social change has seen her work with several local community organisations as well as international organisations such as the UNDP. More recently, she has used her title to speak about creating inclusive societies and aims to continue using her platform to engage in issues important to her.
