Sravya Abbineni

Sravya Abbineni is a Senior Adviser in the Australian Government, specialising in diaspora engagement. She is responsible for providing high level advice to Ministers and Members of Parliament on issues that may be impacting on community harmony across various diaspora communities.

Sravya has a decade of experience working as a senior public policy and political professional in both state and federal governments, including in roles as a senior policy manager and strategy adviser to NSW Labor Opposition Leaders. In these roles, she worked in stakeholder engagement, parliament strategy and across a range of issues impacting Western Sydney and rural and regional NSW.

More recently, Sravya led the development and delivery of the Australian Labor Party’s culturally and linguistically diverse campaign during the 2022 Federal Election.

Sravya’s passion for politics and community service was sparked at an early age, and in 2017, Sravya became the second woman of Indian heritage to serve as the Secretary of NSW Young Labor.
