AIYD 2022 will be held in Sydney and Melbourne from 31 May to 4 June.
AIYD held an official launch event for the 2022 Australia India Youth Dialogue in the two cities of Delhi and Sydney. The event revealed the broad theme of AIYD 2022 and also provided an opportunity for alumni and friends of the AIYD to catch up before the next dialogue year, to discuss how to keep engaged in strengthening ties between the two countries.
Keynote speakers at the Delhi launch event included Hon. Barry O’Farrell, High Commissioner of Australia to India, Dr. Syed Zafar Islam, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), National Spokesperson, Political & Economic Affairs( BJP), Ms. Atishi Marlena, MLA( AAP) and Advisor to Education Minister, Delhi Government , Prof. (Dr.) C Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor & Dean, O.P. Jindal Global ( Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University) and Mr. Manuraj Shunmugasundaram, Chair, Steering Committee, Australia India Youth Dialogue
In Sydney, our launch event commenced with a Welcome to Country by Indigenous elder, Uncle Allan Murray, Chair of the Sydney Metropolitan Land Council. This was followed by keynote speakers, Mr Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra, Mr Benjamin Doherty, Foreign Affairs reporter for The Guardian Australia and 2012 Alumni, the Hon. Ms Lisa Singh, CEO of Australia India Institute, Deputy Chair of Australia-India Council and former Australian Senator, and Mr Sandeep Chandra, AIYD Steering Committee member.
