Kumaravel Thangavel
Kumaravel Thangavel is a third-generation entrepreneur from a textile and green energy enterprise focused on sustainable manufacturing. He holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is also an alumnus of the Rashtram School of Public Leadership's policy boot camp. In 2025, he was selected as an Indian delegate to the Indo-German Young Leaders Forum (IGYLF).
He serves on the National Council of Young Indians (Yi), where he leads the Road Safety Projects. He curated national innovation platforms such as InnovFest under India’s G20 presidency in 2023 (Delhi) and again in 2024 (Kolkata), featuring participants ranging from IITs to established startups. He was the Chairperson of the Erode chapter in 2022, where he published a book on the biodiversity of Western Ghats, titled ‘Wild Erode: Mammals’.
In 2021, he completed Strategic Leadership training at the world-renowned Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), where India’s best civil service officers are trained.
In 2017, he was featured in the ‘200 Young Indian Entrepreneurs’ invited by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of the “Champions of Change” initiative facilitated by NITI Aayog.
In CII, he was a founding member of the curators' council of the Nilgiris Economic Dialogue, serves on the CII MSME Taskforce, and contributes to public policy as a fellow and steering committee member of Citizens for Public Leadership (CPL).
