SARBJEET SINGH

Sarbjeet (Sunny) Singh is a civil engineer passionate about environmental sustainability, currently working as a Stormwater Planning Engineer at the City of Greater Geelong. In this role, he contributes to climate resilience and sustainable urban development through infrastructure planning and stakeholder engagement.

Sunny is also a Youth Advisor to the Australian Government’s Office for Youth, where he represents young Victorians and provides input on complex national issues such as climate change and water policy. He has been contributing to initiatives including the National Water Initiative and the National Climate Adaptation Plan.

As an Office Bearer for Young Engineers Australia, Sunny leads the sustainability portfolio, advocating for greater youth participation in sustainable engineering and addressing skills shortages in the sector.

Originally from India, Sunny brings lived experience of migration and multiculturalism to his leadership. He actively serves on youth advisory boards with the Centre for Multicultural Youth and Cultura, working across mental health, migrant worker rights, and community advocacy.

Sunny was recognised as the Premier’s Victorian International Student of the Year and has spoken at national forums including the Australian International Education Conference, Climate Smart Engineering Conference, and in the Australian Financial Review.
