Sathvik Shetty
Sathvik Shetty is a serial entrepreneur with hands-on experience running businesses across India and Australia. Having navigated the cultural nuances, bureaucratic hurdles and market dynamics of both countries, he brings a unique cross-border perspective to entrepreneurship and innovation. Currently he is the Co-founder and Director of SmartX Technologies Australia, an Australian-based company building AI solutions for the manufacturing and construction sectors focussing on automating the interpretation of complex technical drawings.
Sathvik holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Sydney (2009) and has worked at esteemed aerospace organisations such as National Aerospace Laboratories and Collins Aerospace, specialising in aircraft design and propulsion systems. He has completed Aerospace Management program from IIM Bangalore. Leveraging his aerospace background, he has consulted with Australian space-tech companies on Earth observation satellite projects and represented Australia at the G20 Summit in India (2023) as part of the space tech delegation. His contributions included discussions on leveraging satellite data to address critical challenges such as climate change, mineral resource discovery and agriculture productivity.
Sathvik is passionate about applying space technology to solve real-world societal problems and frequently speaks at space and geospatial forums. Outside his professional pursuits, he is an avid sportsperson—a professional cricket player having played high-level club cricket in Sydney, a competitive tennis player and swimmer.
He is deeply committed to strengthening India-Australia ties in space technology and entrepreneurship, two areas where his experience and passion lies.
