Shruti Chandra

Shruti Chandra is the Head of Government Relations & Public Policy at Prudential Plc, where she leads the firm’s engagement with government and regulators across India. She previously served as Vice President at Invest India, the Government of India’s national investment promotion agency, where she led strategic initiatives across the Retail, E-commerce, Consumer Goods, and BFSI sectors. In that role, she played a central role in facilitating foreign direct investment, shaping sectoral strategies, and supporting public–private partnerships.

Her current work spans digital services, consumer protection, regulatory reform, and ease of doing business. She works closely with policymakers, regulatory institutions, and industry leaders.

Ms. Chandra holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s in Management and International Management from the University of Sydney Business School and CEMS (Rotterdam School of Management and University of Cologne). She is also a Hinrich Foundation Scholar from the National University of Singapore Executive Program on Cross-Border Trade.

She has served as a jury member for leading industry forums, including the Economic Times Great India Retail Awards (2024), the ET eCommerce and Digital Natives Awards (2023), and the Global Fintech Festival (2022). In 2023, she was named to the EuropeIndia40 Leaders List, an honour presented at the European Parliament in recognition of emerging leaders advancing EU–India relations.

She also contributes actively to advancing diversity and women’s leadership, serving as Chairperson of the Europe India Centre for Women Leadership (EICWL), Vice Chair for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment at EICBI, and a Council Member of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) India–EU Business Council.

Her professional interests lie at the intersection of public policy, strategy, and investment, with a focus on regulatory clarity, cross-border collaboration, and inclusive growth.
