VANDANA KASRAVALLI

Dr. Vandana Supriya Kasaravalli is an acclaimed Odissi dancer, choreographer, educator, and social advocate. She began training early, studying at Sita School before refining her craft at Nrityagram, Mount Carmel College (BA in Psychology, Economics & Sociology), and earning a choreography diploma at the Natya Institute under Maya Rao and Madhu Natraj. Further training included Kalaripayattu in Pondicherry and contemporary styles with STEM Dance Kampni.

A solo performer known for expressive bhava, Vandana founded Anandi School of Dance (2013) and later the Anandi Arts Foundation (2016). Through these, she has brought classical dance to underprivileged children—training over 150 government school students in Bangalore—and organized cultural festivals like ASMI and BHAAVA.

In 2017, she married filmmaker and cultural curator Apurva Kasaravalli (son of filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli) and they have a son, Aarav Neal. Vandana holds an honorary doctorate from the Royal Academy of Global Peace for her impact in dance and society.

In short, her life blends artistic excellence, compassionate teaching, and a vision of dance as cultural empowerment.
