Liem Nguyen
Liem Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Australian philanthropy leader and cultural storyteller. His work sits at the intersection of cross-border giving, diaspora identity, and building bridges between communities that don’t always see each other.
As International Philanthropy Manager at Myriad Australia, where he was hired as employee number one, Liem builds the systems and partnerships that allow international NGOs to access Australian donors through tax-deductible giving. He leads partnership development across 120+ organisations worldwide as part of a global alliance spanning nine countries. Before Myriad Australia, he managed grantmaking, marketing, and events for the Bennelong Foundation, funding initiatives that break down barriers in education, employment, and cultural inclusion for First Australians and new Australians.
Liem is the co-founder and host of OKIRU Rise Together, a multicultural storytelling podcast and media platform exploring identity, belonging, and what it means to build a life between cultures. He opens every conversation with a guided meditation and Acknowledgement of Country. He is also developing Gardens of Peace, a long-form photography and oral history project documenting diaspora communities, beginning with his own family’s story.
He is a board member of Collective Being, an organisation dedicated to making trauma-sensitive embodiment and mindfulness accessible to everyone, and an alumnus of the Australia Vietnam Leadership Dialogue. Liem’s career spans mining, startups, community development, and media – threaded together by a commitment to social impact and a belief that genuine conversation changes everything.
